Exploring the experiences and developing supports for public safety families and those who serve them

Rachel’s research focuses on public safety families in three ways. First, she endeavours to understand the experiences of public safety families from their perspective. Secondly, she explores the motivators and capacities of public safety organizations to provide support to the families of their members. Finally, she developed a family toolkit for public safety organizations to implement their own family initiatives. By supporting families, organizations may improve the families’ wellbeing, the job performance of their members, and the overall morale and culture of their organization.
