The Garnet Families
Partnership

Studying and supporting public safety and defence families around the world.

The Garnet Families Partnership is based at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. As the host, Queen’s University is providing generous support that is instrumental in enacting our vision for collective impact. We would like to acknowledge the support of the School of Rehabilitation Therapy, School of Nursing, Queen’s Health Sciences, School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, Queen’s Libraries, Office of the Vice Principal of Research, Feminist Legal Studies Queen’s, and the Canadian Institute for Military & Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) and thank them for their investment in and commitment to Garnet Families.

Why We Partner

More and more, researchers are exploring what it means to be part of a public safety and defence family. The Garnet Families Partnership is a formal collaboration funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council  (SSHRC) through to 2031. The partnership brings together dozens of relevant parties across Canada and internationally to collectively set priorities for research, create knowledge, and enhance our research capacity to optimize individual and collective family well-being.

In addition to the Garnet Families team, FMRG researchers and trainees, there are additional researchers on the Garnet Families Partnership team.
